Reveal X-Pro For Great Photos and Videos
Just look at the image quality and brilliant colors of the Gobbler below. The colors are vivid, the action was caught as a great photo and 1080 video, and I received the image on my cell phone moments later. As soon as I saw the image, I had to have an HD video to post on this website and The Old Deer Hunters Youtube channel. The old gobbler walked by one day after I set up my blind. This kind of action will really get a hunter fired up for turkey season. It is the next best thing to being there.

TACTACAM Reveal X-Pro Setup
Setting up the TACTACAM Reveal X-Pro cellular camera is a easy and fast, thanks to the built-in LCD screen and the user-friendly TACTACAM Reveal App. After downloading the excellent Reveal App from iTunes or the Google Play, you can have the camera activated and connected to your choice of cellular network (Verizon or AT&T) in just minutes.
Simply insert the sim card, 12 AA batteries or a TACTACAM Lithium Cartridge, a Class 10, U3 SD card with 32GB of storage, and scan the barcode inside the camera door. While lithium batteries are recommended, regular Duracell batteries will suffice. The app will prompt you with a few questions, and voila, the Reveal X-Pro is good to go.
The TACTACAM warranty is implemented when you activate the camera. You do not have to go through a separate warranty registration.
Reveal X-Pro LCD Screen
One standout feature of the Reveal X-Pro is the LCD screen, which allows precise camera alignment for perfect photo framing. No more guesswork or taking test photos to check alignment—the screen shows exactly where the camera is aimed.
You can also use the screen in combination with the buttons to make adjustments to the camera settings. If you leave your cell phone in the truck, you can walk through the on-screen menu using the buttons inside the camera door.
The Reveal App & HD Video On-Demand
When you open the Reveal App it may seem a little overwhelming with all the settings, but I assure you it will become your best friend. With options such as image size, video size and length, power selection, sensitivity, and night modes, the app allows for customization tailored to your needs. The night mode, for instance, permits flash range selection and includes adjustments to prevent blur and set maximum range, ensuring optimal image and video quality with every shot.
Would Your Rather Have A Video or Just A Photo?
The TACTACAM App also facilitates on-demand downloading of HD videos and high-definition photos. While using the on-demand feature incurs an extra fee not covered by your monthly cellular plan, the ability to download a 15-second video with audio for a few cents is a premium feature. HD photos and 1080P videos (720P at night) are available via the app for an extra fee of $5 for 50, or you can retrieve them from the disk for free. When a big buck is in the area, the last thing I want to do is to stink up the area to retrieve the video card.
The 640 resolution photos sent to your phone are very good, but having the option to download a 15-second video with audio on-demand for a few cents is a fantastic feature in my opinion. You get photo after photo of does and turkey hens passing by the camera and it is no big deal. When that shooter buck or big tom walks by, you will want that video to evaluate the size and see where he is coming from and where he is going.
The Reveal X-Pro Cellular trail camera does not just save you time and gasoline, it adds a new dimension of information for scouting and hunting enjoyment. The first thing I do every morning is grab a hot cup of coffee and check my Reveal App to see what came by during the night.
TACTACAM Cellular Data Plans
TACTACAM data plans are available with 250, 500, or unlimited photos each month directly to your phone. The data plans can be paid monthly or annually. The annual plan will save you a little money if you run your cameras all year. I use the unlimited plan but one of the other plans may be all you need for scouting or security.
A plan must be selected for each camera. You can not combine cameras under one plan. You can select ATT or Verizon as the carrier for your plan, depending on which gives you the best coverage in your area.
Reveal Data Plans
PRO PLAN – Unlimited photos $13 per month or $120 annually
INTERMEDIATE PLAN – 500 photos per month $8 or $85 annually
STARTER PLAN – 250 photos per month or $55 annually
For On-Demand HD Photos and Videos, there is an extra charge of $5 per 50 downloads.
Photo Sharing
Another great feature of the TACTACAM Reveal X-Pro is photo sharing without revealing your login credentials. For instance, if you and your hunting buddies share a deer lease and have several Reveal X Pro cameras, the photos can be sent to all the lease members for free.
Each person can download the Reveal App, set up an account and the photos can then be shared among the lease members. The person with the data plan can share photos by adding the e-mail addresses of the lease members. No additional data plans are required.
It is also very easy to send select photos and videos from your App home page or gallery page. Just click thumbnail and to see the image and you will have options to save or share the image or download HD photos and videos. The TACTACAM App is very easy to use and full of features to make your scouting and photo sharing a lot of fun.
“No Glow” IR Technology & Security
The “No Glow” IR technology ensures that nighttime photos are captured without any visible flash or red glow, making it less likely to spook wildlife. You will notice the hog in the video above was not bothered in the least.
During deer season last year I had noticed that a buck had spotted one of my other cameras that did not have the No-Glow technology. As the camera started the video recording, the buck looked up at the red glow and immediately left the area. That is not a problem with the Reveal X-Pro thanks to No Glow.
If you are using the Reveal X-Pro for security, this technology is a must. Trespassers do not just leave the area the way that old buck did, they take your camera with them.
My primary use for the TACTACAM Reveal X-Pro is for hunting, but they are also great for security in remote areas. We have some expensive tractors and utility vehicles at our deer lease and it is reassuring to be able to keep an eye on the equipment with near real time reporting.
Reveal’s No Glow IR Technology, 80+ feet of adjustable illumination and sub ½-second trigger speeds will capture any unwanted presence for rapid notification via the Reveal App.
These cameras are also handy to monitor livestock, construction sites, RV storage locations and vacant rental properties. They can be used inside or outside of cabins or around storage buildings. The Reveal Lithium Battery pack and Solar Panel will provide you a dependable power service that will not require constant attention and replacement.
Reveal X-Pro GPS
The built-in GPS, password protection, and cable lock compatibility provide added security and peace of mind, especially for those who need to deploy their cameras in remote locations. If your camera is stolen, tracking via the GPS is possible when the camera is powered on.
GPS Mapping
GPS Mapping plots all your cameras so you know exactly where they are located. Click the maps icon at the bottom of the App to bring up the location of all your cameras on the map. Select one of the cameras on the map to see that camera’s status along with specific coordinates of the camera location.
All the important information like battery percentage, signal strength and remaining storage on the data card is included.
From the mapping screen, you can directly navigate to the camera details to make changes to the settings. It even gives you the temperature at the camera location.
As the battery uses power, the battery icon will change from green to yellow and finally red to warn you the batteries may need replacing.
TACTACAM Reveal X-Pro Engineered For Success
The TACTACAM Reveal series is built to last. The case itself is strong and is much more weather resistant than the old clam shell cameras. Most of my previous cameras that failed did so because water leaked into the battery compartment and shorted the camera out.
The Reveal design is just better which means your camera will keep working even in extreme outdoor weather.
You will probably never need tech support, but if you do, TACTACAM support ( phone 218-282-5650) is based in the United States by people who are hunters, not just customer service reps. They have the best customer support and will either help you resolve an issue over the phone, or assist you in getting the camera repaired in a timely manner if you have to send it back for warranty service.

TACTACAM Reveal X-Pro Accessories
The Reveal X-Pro has many accessories to help you in the field. A couple of my favorites are the rechargeable Lithium Cartridge and the External Solar Panel.
In addition to the camera itself, TACTACAM has engineered a complete line of optional accessories to complement the Reveal X-Pro. Optional accessories include an integrated solar panel, rechargeable lithium cartridge, tree mounts, T-post mounts, data cards, extended range antennas, and security mounts. Lithium batteries are expensive, so even if you do not need the other accessories, the rechargeable lithium cartridge is a a must in my book. You can buy a rechargeable lithium cartridge for less that the cost of two sets of lithium batteries. The camera will run for months on this cartridge while sending 15-20 pics a day. I am on the unlimited plan and it just keeps sending me hundreds of photos on a single charge.
I have not tried the extended antenna because the Reveal X-Pro works so well without it. If you have one bar on your cell phone it will send photos.

Testing the Detection Range
The best things about this trail camera is that it is easy to use and meets or exceeds every advertised specification. The photos and videos are the best I have seen from a trail camera. The detection range and flash range are both a little more than advertised. While I was testing the camera, it was catching crisp photos of cars passing more than 200 feet from the camera. The trigger speed is very fast, so almost nothing gets past before the image is captured.
While the Reveal X-Pro is not the cheapest cellular trail camera on the market, its features and performance justify the price tag. I wanted a trail camera that had good transmission capabilities and one that would take 15-second HD video. My budget for trail cameras was around $150 each for cameras plus a $15 per month cellular plan. The TACTACAM Reveal X-PRO camera met those criteria plus it is easier to use than any other trail camera I have tried.
After using the Reveal X-Pro for a year, it is much better than any other trail camera I have used. I have had no issues, and the images are great. The cellular connection is also better than my old cameras. I have not had to use external antennas for any of my hunting areas.
Battery life is another strong suit of the Reveal X-Pro. Using 12 AA Lithium batteries or the TACTACAM Lithium power pack, I can get 2-3 months of runtime. Keep in mind that I am running the unlimited plan with the camera set to take photos and videos. If you set the camera to only take photos, the batteries will last twice as long. Using the available solar panel, the camera’s runtime can be extended even more, making it a reliable choice for long-term monitoring.
TACTACAM Reveal X-Pro Cellular Trail Camera – Bottom Line
If you are searching for a cellular trail camera that performs great in every way, takes brilliant photos and HD videos, and simple to use, look no farther than the TACTACAM Reveal X-Pro. If you look at the photos you will see that images are good both day and night. I think the Reveal X-Pro’s are great cameras and worth the price. I also think TACTACAM has reasonably priced the plans (starting at $5 per month) and on-demand fees. I have transitioned to the TACTACAM Reveal cameras exclusively for my cellular trail camera needs.
If you are on a budget, the plans may be a little expensive, but you can turn them on or off every month. Run the cellular plan during deer season or when you need it, and just check the cards the rest of the year. Personally, I would use a lot more than $13 worth of gasoline each month to check cards, so I just see it as a savings. Not to mention the time it takes me to drive to my lease. My closest lease is 30 minutes away, and the other is over an hour.
Sometimes you discover great products that just perform at a higher level than the competition. That is what I found during this TACTACAM Reveal X-Pro Cellular Trail Camera Review. You will not be disappointed with this trail camera.
