I have been using several brands of cellular trail cameras for as long as they have been available. Some were pretty good but lacked in a few features I think are important. Reveal X Gen 2 Trail Camera Setup

The TACTACAM Reveal X Gen 2 Trail Camera is so easy to set up, even an Old Deer Hunter like myself can do it. If you do not want to use the cellular feature of the camera, you can just add batteries, the antenna, sim card and a 32GB SD card and you are set. You can do all the setup easily using the menu and built in screen on the camera.

Most hunters who choose this camera will want to use the cellular feature and that only requires a couple of more steps. The App will walk you right through the setup process with photo instructions.

• Install the batteries, the cellular sim card, and 32GB C10 SD card
• Go to the Tactacam Reveal Website, set up an account, download the Reveal App
• Go to the Add Camera on the app and start the setup.
• You select your preferred carrier, ATT or Verizon during the setup. Choose the carrier with best coverage in you hunting area. Remember, this a completely different from your personal cell phone service.

The Reveal X Gen 2 Cell Camera, unlike the Pro Model, does not have a viewing screen to preview the camera viewing area. Instead, you can use the handy WIFI feature to connect the Reveal X Gen 2 Cell Camera to the Reveal App on your smartphone to check the viewing area of the camera. Below are the easy steps to check the viewing area at setup.

When you set up your new Reveal X Gen 2 you will need to switch the camera to setup and open your Reveal Smartphone App;

When setting up your camera, you’ll notice that the camera’s Wi-Fi indicator light is blinking, indicating that you haven’t connected to the camera’s Wi-Fi yet. Here’s a simple guide to help you get connected:

1. Access Camera Settings: Open up your Reveal App and navigate to the Wi-Fi section.
2. Locate Wi-Fi Signal: Look for the Reveal X’s Wi-Fi signal in the list of available networks.
3. Enter Password: The Wi-Fi network has a password, which is printed on label inside the camera door (remember, it’s case-sensitive).

6. No Internet Connection Alert: Don’t worry if your device indicates “No internet connection” after connecting to the camera’s Wi-Fi. This is normal since the camera’s Wi-Fi doesn’t provide internet access.
7. View Area with Tacticam Reveal App: With your camera connected to Wi-Fi, you’re now ready to use the Tacticam Reveal app to see your camera’s viewing area.

The Reveal X Gen 2 takes video and photo at the same time. Yes, it will shorten battery life if you use this setting instead of photo only, but you get so much more information with a 10-15 second video than just a photo.

Lithium batteries are expensive, so I have ordered the available Lithium battery pack from AMAZON for $49. 12 Lithium batteries cost $38, so it’s a no-brainer to buy at least one battery pack per camera and a spare so you an have an extra one on the charger ready to go.
