TACTACAM Reveal Cellular Trail Cameras & Accessories are my favorite trail cameras for many reasons. I currently run the Tactacam Reveal SK trail camera, the TACTACAM Reveal X PRO Trail Camera and the Reveal X Gen 2. This is not a review. I am not going to tell you these are the best on the market or compare them to other cameras, but I do want to tell you why they meet all my needs. I have settled on the new Reveal series of trail cameras from Tactacam exclusively for my personal use. I will have a complete TACTACAM Reveal X PRO Trail Camera review upcoming shortly.
I have used several brands of cellular trail cameras for as long as they have been available. Some were pretty good but lacked in a few features I think are important. The Tactacam Reveal cameras have all the features I want in a cellular trail camera without breaking the bank. Plus, they are very easy to set up and easy to use. The Reveal App gives me complete control of my cameras and I can get HD photos and videos on demand.
They are not the cheapest cellular trail cameras on the market, but not the most expensive either. I wanted trail cameras that had good transmission capabilities and could take 15-second HD video. My budget for trail cameras is around $150-$180 each for cameras plus a $15 per month cellular plan. The Tacticam Reveal cameras meet those criteria plus much more.
I want to remind you that after seeing how good the images and videos are, you will want one, or several of these Reveal cameras. Of course you know that I am an Amazon affiliate. All three of these cameras take excellent photos and videos of nearly the same quality. The differences rest in the accessories included with the camera, the built-in viewing screen and antenna setup. The best camera for your money is the Reveal SK that comes with the rechargeable lithium battery pack and solar panel to keep it charged. You never have to buy batteries for it and it takes 24-megapixel photos.

I think this is the best bang for your “Buck$”. You get a lithium battery pack ($50) and a Solar Panel ($50) plus dual antennas for just a few more dollars than the Reveal X Pro. You do not get a built-in screen, but I think it is worth the trade off.
You set it up and forget it until you want to move it to a different location.

The Reveal X PRO takes video and photo at the same time. Yes, it will shorten battery life if you use this setting instead of photo only, but you get so much more information with a 10-15 second video than just a photo.
Lithium batteries are expensive, so I have ordered the available Lithium battery pack from AMAZON for $49. A 12-pack of Lithium batteries cost $38, so it’s a no-brainer to buy at least one battery pack per camera and a spare so you an have an extra one on the charger ready to go.

Instant photo delivery and near instant HD Video delivery. If I get a really interesting photo and want a 15-second 1080 video, I can get it using the app in a couple of minutes.
Advanced features in the Tacticam Reveal cameras let me set it up for my needs, not for the “village”. My Preferred settings may be different from yours.
Weather-resistant body make these cameras free from issues because they keep the rain out and stay completely dry inside.
Solar panel accessories can be plugged into the bottom of the camera. You can use any brand with the correct plug but it included with the Reveal SK.
Lithium cartridges save money and are easy to use. I have a Tacticam battery cartridge for each of my cameras and a spare to keep charged for rotating through my cameras.
High-definition video in 1080 resolution is great for catching the action and for my Youtube channel and social media. It is great for sizing up a buck too.
Megapixels of resolution doesn’t mean much from one camera to the other but the pics I get from my Tactacam Reveal camera are exceptionally good.
Camera setup is easier on the Tactacam Reveal camera than any I have used. The process is easy and fast with your personal mobile devices.
Illumination of nighttime activity extends to about 90 feet. Take care when aiming the camera to take advantage of the illumination. Do not point it too low. Detection range is 50ft to 150
Extreme weather conditions do not seem to affect operation but can cause the camera to trigger if trees and leaves start blowing wildly in the wind.
Red glow or Glow infrared flash is not a problem for the Pro..Forget about it.
Low-glow IR advantage of the Tactacam Reveal X Gen 2 camera works well but I did have a buck see it and walk away. Tactacam trail cameras give you the option of no glow for a little more money.
Cellular trail camera app features are the best on the market. Everything works and it is very easy to use.
Security trail cameras like the Tactacam Reveal cameras alert you as soon as trespassers are in your area so you can take action if necessary.
Battery information is found on the camera status on the app. You know when the batteries need changing by percentage of power remaining.
Long-lasting power performance is a plus for Tactacam Reveal camera. They last for months of normal use.
TACTACAM Reveal Technology and Performance:
Innovative technology make these cameras special. Great video, long lasting batteries and they transmit from areas with terrible cell coverage where clarity of remote cellular transmission is questionable. Dual antennas are not needed. The best coverage in a cellular area is not always necessary.
The REVEAL is the Ultimate remote scouting tool. Ultimate performance from these Reveal camera is provided by the newly developed hybrid mode that takes a photo and video at the same time.
Trigger speed may not be the fastest shutter trigger speed but the .5 second trigger speed catches 99% of moving animals in the center of the frame unless really close to the camera.
Better battery life has been made possible that previous models. Battery Power and battery life of your reveal cameras will not disappoint you.
