Para USA 1911 LTC Stainless Pistol .45 ACP Pistol

Para 1911 Pistol 45ACP

The Para USA 1911 Stainless Steel LTC Pistol in .45 ACP features a 4.25-inch Match Grade Integral Ramped Stainless Barrel, Wood grips,  White 3-Dot Sights, and Power Extractor. The LTC has the same frame as a full-size 1911 but the slide and barrel have been shortened to 4.25-inches. The LTC came with two magazines, one that holds the standard seven rounds of .45 ACP and a second one that holds eight rounds. Don’t have any idea why.

The first thing I noticed when when I first saw the Para USA 1911 LTC pistol was the superior fit and finish. It screams quality right out of the box and continues shot after shot.

The first 20 yard 5-shot group I put down range was a tight 1.5″ group and the second was just as good.  After just 10 rounds I moved to the 50 yard plates and gongs, and began ringing them like bells. Keep in mind that I have tired 64-year old eyes. After that one trip to the range, I am sold on the LTC.  I like everything about.

Para USA LTC barrels are supposed to be match quality and am totally convinced they are definitely premium quality.  I was shooting 200 grain lead semi-wadcutters over a medium charge of Unique for about 800 fps, and the LTC ran shot after shot without a hitch.

The  LTC has all the bells and whistles I was looking for on a 1911. The stainless steel has a superior finish that looks great.  The great Novack style combat 3-Dot sights are sharp, easy to see and look as good as the work.  The extended safety is easy to use with a positive click on and off safety.  The target style trigger breaks clean at about 4-5 pounds.  I have to say, the Para USA LTC has everything I want and nothing I do not like.

The only problem I have with the LCT is now I want a matching 9mm in blue steel.  If you are in the market for a 1911 pistol, DO NOT fail to take a hard look at the Para USA.

An interesting thing I read, but have not yet confirmed, is how the LTC got it’s name. Colt has produced a pistol of the same size for many years called the Commander.  LTC or Lieutenant Colonel is the Army, Air Force and Marine equivalent rank of the Navy’s Commander, so Para named it the LTC. I like the story, even if it may not be completely true.

Good Shooting!
