The Beeman, SAG Deluxe CO2 Air Rifle is a very good air rifle for plinking and pest control. It is the same rifle as the QB78 Deluxe CO2 Air Rifle that has available for years, but it is now imported by Beeman.
I have used mine for several years and it continues to provide great service and loads of shooting fun. I have never had any problems with this great air rifle. I really like the hardwood stock and blue steel, but it is also available with a synthetic stock. It comes with fiber optic sights but I removed them and added a scope. It has a grooved receiver so popping a scope on is a snap.
I originally bought the .177 caliber but found it lacking for squirrels. I changed it to 22 caliber for more power and energy on target. The .177 is fine for targets, but the .22 caliber is better for hunting. My rifle is accurate keeping groups around 1″ for 5 shots at 20 yards off my shooting sticks. I use standard pellets so with match pellets it will probably do better. See photo below.
This rifle shoots 650 FPS so it does not break the sound barrier and does not “crack” loudly when you shoot it. Your neighbors won’t panic when you shoot in the back yard.
Because it is a CO2 powered rifle, it is much easier to shoot accurately than a break barrel spring air rifle. I tried several spring type rifles but none of them shot as well as the QB78 or (Beeman CO2 Rifle). You do not need a special scope because there is no spring recoil. An 22 rimfire scope is fine. I use a Nikon Rimfire scope on my rifle and it works well.
I took it out on my porch and shot 4 5-round groups at 20 yards using my shooting sticks. The groups were under a minute of squirrel head. Plenty good enogh for plinking or dispatching a pest.

Since most of your shots with an air rifle will be pretty close, it is best to have a scope with an adjustable objective or side focus like the Tasco Air Rifle Scope above. A scope used for deer hunting will not work well because the focus will not be clear at short range of an air rifle, usually 10-40 yards.
Some low power rimfire scopes will work, but an air rifle scope is best, and they are not expensive. I would not recommend buying the cheapest scope on the market, so I am recommending the Tasco Air Rifle Scope that can be focused in as close as 10 yards.
